Most crusher loads leave the gate with an e-way bill, and most crusher owners never think about it until a vehicle is stopped on the highway. The e-way bill system changed from 1 August 2026, and some of the changes touch the way crushers sell every day.
This is a plain-language summary. Please confirm the details for your business with your CA or tax consultant.
What changed from 1 August 2026
1. Ship-to GSTIN in bill-to/ship-to cases. When you bill one party but deliver to another location — for example, you bill a builder’s head office but the load goes to their project site — the GSTIN of the delivery location must now be captured where it applies.
2. URP entry for unregistered recipients. Many crusher customers are small contractors or individuals without GST registration. For these sales, the e-way bill needs to be marked correctly as an unregistered person (URP).
3. Closing an e-way bill after delivery. E-way bills can now be closed once the goods are delivered, and closure is not limited to the supplier — the recipient, transporter or driver can also do it.
4. Changes for software users. Businesses that generate e-way bills through ERP or billing software had to update their systems to the new format.
Why this matters for crushers
Crusher sales are fast and repetitive: dozens or hundreds of loads a day, many to project sites that are not the billing address, and many to unregistered buyers. That is exactly where these changes apply.
- If your weighbridge staff type the delivery address by hand, mistakes in ship-to details become more likely
- If unregistered customers are not marked correctly, your e-way bill data and your GST returns may not match
- If your software was not updated, generation may fail or need manual correction on the portal
A simple checklist
- Keep a customer master with GSTIN, billing address and each delivery site
- Mark unregistered customers once, so the system handles them the same way every time
- Generate the e-way bill from the dispatch entry, not by retyping on the portal
- Check that your billing software was updated for the August 2026 changes
- Review a sample of last month’s e-way bills with your CA
How RokMixPro handles it
In RokMixPro, the GST e-invoice and e-way bill are generated from the same dispatch entry that prints the weighment slip. Weighbridge staff do not need a separate portal login, customer and site details come from the master, and the entries flow into Tally automatically. One entry, one set of numbers, from gate to books.
If your team still copies weighbridge data into the e-way bill portal, book a free demo and see the single-entry flow on your own data.
