Every crusher owner knows this customer. Good contractor, big projects, lifts material every day. And every month, the outstanding grows a little more. “Next week, sir. Project payment is coming.”
Then one day, the project ends, the contractor moves on, and you’re left holding a number that was never really a sale.

Why crushers struggle with credit
- Competition. Refuse credit, and the contractor goes to the next crusher.
- No live visibility. The owner sees outstanding at month-end, after another month of lifting.
- Personal relationships. It’s awkward to say no to a customer you’ve known for years.
- Rates and advances in different places. Advance in one book, dispatch in another, payment in a third.
Five rules that protect your money
1. Set a credit period per customer. 15, 30 or 45 days. Agreed in writing, not assumed.
2. Set a credit amount, not just a period. A big contractor and a small builder shouldn’t get the same limit.
3. Check outstanding before dispatch, not after. The weighbridge is the last point where you have leverage.
4. Treat advances properly. Advance customers should see their balance reduce with every load.
5. Review ageing every week. Dues older than the credit period need a call that same week.
“Sir, your account is past due. I can release today’s loads as soon as the old bill is cleared.” Polite, firm, and it puts the decision with the customer.
Make outstanding visible every day
When dispatch, invoicing and receipts live in one system, customer outstanding is always current. The owner can see it on the phone every morning (see our 10-minute morning check). That’s what turns credit from a guess into a decision.
How RokMixPro helps
RokMixPro records every dispatch against the customer, generates GST invoices from the weighment, and keeps receipts in the same system, then syncs to Tally. Your outstanding report is built from real slips, not memory. See our mining dispatch management software.
FAQ
Won’t strict credit rules lose me customers?
Clear rules usually lose you the worst payers, not the best customers. Good contractors respect a well-run plant.
What about cash customers?
Keep them simple. Cash and UPI at the window, slip printed, done.
